Kandyagash is a small town in the Mugalzhar district, a crossroads of four roads, a railway junction of republican significance. The city was founded in 1905 as a small village, settlement, population is 36,000 people. The city appeared here due to the construction of a railway from the city of Moscow, Russia to the city of Tashkent, Uzbekistan through the territory of Kazakhstan, like the Kandagach railway station. The Atyrau-Aktobe highway also passes through the city. That is, there is a four-track railway junction directed to Aktobe in the north, Kyzylorda in the south, Astana in the east and Atyrau in the west. In the east of the city there are low hills of the Mugalzhar Mountains, and on the western side there is a plain, steppe. The place is suitable for animal husbandry, agriculture and horticulture.

Information, history -
In 1967, in connection with the 50th anniversary of the October Revolution, the name of the city was changed from the city of Kandyagash to the city of Oktyabrsk. In 1976, in connection with the discovery of phosphorus ore deposits near Kandyagash, the Shilisay phosphorus plant was opened. In 1977, an appeal was published to the All-Union Komsomol Youth with a request to build a town near the city of Kandyagash. On the basis of this, the youth construction team “Phosphorit-78” was formed, where young people from all over the Union came and contributed to the construction of small microdistricts “Zhastyk”, “Dostyk”, “Samal”. Also, the development of the city of Kandyagash is connected with the Zhanazhol oil field. During the development of oil fields in the city, the number of residential buildings built in the 70-80s in connection with the construction of the Shilisay oil field increased sharply. Since 2006, the Bolashak and Samal-1,2,3 microdistricts have been removed from the suburbs. Also in 2017, a small district “Zhangakonys” (Nurly Zhol) and central parks appeared in the city. Currently, the city is rapidly developing and improving. Small businesses are growing and business opportunities are increasing.
