Pioneer Peak is a mountain peak located at an altitude of 4035 meters above sea level in the upper reaches of the Small Almaty Gorge in the mountains of the Trans-Ili Alatau. The peak is very popular among climbers, rock climbers, outdoor enthusiasts and mountain hikes. The difficulty category of the mountain routes is 1B, 3B and 4B. Hiking requires the ability to work with special climbing equipment and teamwork skills. Climbing the mountain usually starts from the Tuyuk-Su alpine camp and passes through the Mynzhilki tract. The alpine camp is usually reached on foot from the high-altitude base of Shymbulak in winter, where the ski slope opens from the Big Talgar pass. Along the way, we will pass the famous Alpingrad glade where climbers set up their base camps for rest and preparation for climbing. Further along, we will pass Lake No. 13 Manshuk Mametova. From the top of the peak, you can enjoy a beautiful mountain panorama of the Ile-Alatau Park, you will see such natural attractions as Manshuk Mametova Peak, Nursultan (Komsomol) Peak, Abai Peak, Ordzhonikidze Peak, Bogdanovich Glacier, and Tuyuksu Glacier.

How to get there and visit -

Pioneer Peak is located in the mountains of the Trans-Ili Alatau in the upper reaches of the Small Almaty Gorge, Ile-Alatau National Park, Medeu district, Almaty region, Republic of Kazakhstan.
