Palace of culture of miners in Karaganda city.

Culture tours in Karaganda city.

One of the main attractions in Karaganda is the Miners' Palace of Culture. This building began to be built in 1940, while it began to be used only after 12 years. Most city holidays and special events are held here. The symmetrical structure of the building consists of three components. The central one is used as a theater complex, it includes a lobby, upper and lower foyers, side lobbies, and of course, an auditorium that can accommodate up to a thousand spectators.

How to get to the Miners' Palace of Culture.

The facade of the central part has six octagonal columns, which are supported by special protrusions; they are far advanced forward from the main walls. Laced gypsum lancet arches serve as a junction of walls with these protrusions. The upper part of the facade of the central part of the building is decorated with sculptural figures. This is a warrior, akyn with dombra, collective farmer with a sheaf, a shepherd with a lamb, a builder and a miner.
