Gorelnik Gorge is located in the side of the Small Almaty mountain gorge in the mountains of the Trans-Ili Alatau near the city of Almaty. Gorelnik is a picturesque place, there is a mountain trail along which you can climb to the upper reaches of the gorge, visit local waterfalls, take a walk in the mountains and have a great time of active recreation. A small river flows in the Gorelnik gorge and there are small streams with crystal clear water that you can drink.
We recommend traveling to Gorelnik Gorge for one day, you can also travel to the gorge for several days, it all depends on your athletic training and desire. We do not recommend a solo hike in the Gorelnik gorge, in the mountains it is necessary to move in a group consisting of at least two people, you also need to have all the necessary equipment, special mountain shoes, replaceable warm clothes, a compass, matches, a hat, sunglasses, walking sticks.
