Departure at 7.00. Transfer: Atyrau - village of Dossor - mazar Onai-ata (64 km). Our path lies northeast of the city of Atyrau, about 38 kilometers from the city, five kilometers to the right of the road, in the east, the village of Karabatan is visible. The largest petrochemical plant in Kazakhstan, Bolashak, is located 13 kilometers from it. After 90 kilometers, from Atyrau, we pass the large village of Dossor, where the first oil production in Kazakhstan was started in 1911. There are many modern monuments dedicated to this date in Dossor. If desired, you can visit some of them. 45 kilometers from the village of Dossor, Onai-ata mazar is located to the left of the road, a short walk near the mazar.
Transfer: mazar Onai-ata - cafe by the road - chalk plateau Akkergeshen (191 km). Our further journey along the asphalt road does not represent anything interesting. From the cafe by the road, we turn left, northeast and drive along an old, broken-down highway that leads to the oil field. The endless steppe surrounds us from all sides. Soon, the outlines of the Imankara mountain range appear far ahead, and a white elongated wall appears to the left of it, this is the chalk plateau of Akkergesen. Transfer to the central part of the plateau, walk in the surroundings, search for flora and fauna of the paleontological era. Dinner.
Transfer: Akkergeshen - the Munaily Mola bitumen deposit (45 km). After visiting the central part of the Ackergesen chalk plateau, the road takes us to the top of the plateau and from here we soon return to the old road. We pass the oil field and from here our way lies to the Munaily Mall. Arrival at the Munaily Mall. The most interesting thing about this deposit is the stone globular nodules, which were turned out by bulldozers, plastered with bitumen and sand. On some spherical nodules, where bitumen with sand separated under the influence of wind, rain and sun, a smooth stone surface was revealed. There are a large number of spherical nodules and several salt lakes in the depressions of the bitumen deposit and in the vicinity of the lake. A walk around the neighborhood. Dinner.
Transfer: Munaily Mola - Aktolagai plateau (44 km). Arrival at the Aktolagai plateau, walk around the surroundings. The Aktolagai Cretaceous plateau, located on the border of Atyrau and Aktobe regions, once represented the seabed. That is why fossilized remains of mollusks, corals, sea urchins and other marine fauna that lived tens of millions of years ago can now be found in abundance here. Accommodation in tents, dinner, overnight.
Breakfast. A walk in the vicinity of the Aktolagai chalk plateau. Transfer: Aktolagai - Munaily Mola - shift settlement - Imankara cave (73 km). We are returning along the same road that we came to Aktolagai. After the shift camp, we have a view of Mount Imankara, dominating the endless steppes of the Atyrau region. On the southwestern side of Mount Imankara, there is the Imankara Cave, which was built in the early 19th century by the first British exploration geologists who explored oil reserves in Western Kazakhstan. A walk to the cave and the surrounding area.
Transfer: Imankara cave - cafe by the road (53 km). Return to the Atyrau – Aktau highway. Lunch is waiting for us here at the roadside cafe.
