The Mausoleum of Ybyrai Altynsarin is an architectural monument, a sacred and sacred place and a place of pilgrimage in the Kostanay region. The mausoleum was built in 1960, then rebuilt in 1981 and 1991, a complete reconstruction of the mausoleum was carried out in 2017. Now the mausoleum is a small white building, very beautiful and elegant with a narrow and high entrance, the roof of the building is crowned with a round white dome, which is made in the shape of a batyr (Kazakh warrior) military helmet.

The mausoleum of Ybyrai Altynsarin was built in honor of the outstanding Kazakh educator-teacher, scientist-ethnographer, poet and prose writer, public figure Ibrai Altynsarin. He was one of the founders of Kazakh written literature and literary language, the creator of a version of the Kazakh alphabet based on the Russian language. Ybyrai Altynsarin opened 14 educational institutions and laid the foundation for a system of secular education for the Kazakh people. He is the author of the textbooks “Textbook of the Kazakh Language” and “Basic Guide to Teaching Kazakhs the Russian Language.” For the 150th anniversary of Ybyrai Altynsarin, a red brick mausoleum in the form of a portal-dome was built on the site of the old monument. In 2017, the mausoleum was restored, its area and height were increased. White limestone and granite brought from the Mangistau region were used for finishing. In addition, the entire surrounding area has been landscaped, lighting has been installed, and areas for holding events have been provided.
