The fountain "Zhetysu" (Seven Rivers) is a landmark of Almaty, architect and developer Mels Kamarovich Safin. The fountain hides and displays a deep meaning that the artist wanted to show, the fountain shows the process of the flow of seven rivers of the Semirechye region, which flow into Lake Balkhash. The fountain is made in the form of a cascade, where the main ones are three large reservoirs with water, the main part of the fountain is made of black granite and represents Lake Balkhash, into which the rivers flow: the Ili River, the Lepsy River, the Koksu River, the Tentek River, the Karatal River, the Aksu River, the Chu River. These seven rivers symbolize the region of Semirechye (Zhetysu) located on the territory of Kazakhstan in its southeastern part and in the north of Kyrgyzstan. Next to the fountain there is a monument to Mukan Tulebayev. There are benches along the fountain where you can sit and relax in the shade of the trees next to the water. The most beautiful trees of different species are planted along the street.

How to get there, visit -

The Zhetysu Fountain (Semirechye) is located at the beginning of Tulebaev Street, the corner of Abay Street, just below the monument to Mukan Tulebaev, Medeu District, Almaty City, Republic of Kazakhstan.
