One-day hike from Almaty to Ile-Alatau Mountain Park -

Sky Peak is a mountain peak located at an altitude of 3129 meters above sea level in the Trans-Ili Alatau Mountains within the city of Almaty. The mountain is little-known and rarely visited, which makes the journey to the top more interesting and exciting. The height of the peak is not so great compared to other peaks, but the path to the top also requires good physical fitness and the skill of being in the mountains at altitudes exceeding 3000 meters above sea level. The ascent to the peak goes through two routes, the first route goes along the Kimasar gorge through the famous swing in the mountains of Almaty, Furmanov Peak and Panorama Peak. The second route goes through the Butakov gorge and the famous Butakov waterfalls. From the top of the peak, a beautiful mountain panorama opens up to the Left Talgar gorge and its upper reaches. If desired, you can climb Sky Peak through the Butakovskoye gorge and descend through the Kimasar gorge, which will add additional complexity to the route, and you can visit many natural attractions in one hike. Keep in mind that this hike is best done in the summer, when the sunny day is at its longest, and you need to leave for this route at 4 am.

Information -

Sky Peak is a majestic peak in the Zailiyskiy Alatau Mountains, as if hovering in the sky. This is one of the most picturesque and impressive places in Almaty, attracting climbers, travelers and anyone who wants to test themselves in the embrace of the mountain elements. The peak rises above the clouds, revealing stunning panoramas of endless mountain ranges and glacial valleys. Its rocky ridges, covered in snow, create the illusion of inaccessibility, and the crystal-clear air and shining sun make every step to the top special. The ascent to the peak begins with picturesque valleys, turning into harsh glacial plateaus and rock scree. Strength of spirit, endurance and loyalty to a dream are important here. The best time for climbing is summer and early autumn, when weather conditions are most stable. However, even at this time, the mountains remain unpredictable - sudden changes in temperature, squally wind and sudden snowfalls can change the route at any moment.
Sky Peak is not just a mountain, it is a summit where dreams and reality meet. Here, on the border between earth and sky, man is left alone with himself, nature and the infinity of the horizon. And only those who dare to step on its top will be able to feel themselves a part of this immense element.
