The Aksu River is a beautiful river, translated from the Kazakh language means “White Water”, flows through the Aksu Canyon in the Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve and is its natural attraction. The river is mountainous and very picturesque; a mountain trail leads to the river, to which you can go down into the river canyon. The color of the water in the river is light blue, the river is very stormy and the current in the river is very fast. If you have a desire to swim in the river, you need to follow safety precautions and do it in small creeks where the current is not so fast. The river is fed by water from the local glaciers of the Talas and Dzhungar Alatau at an altitude of 3,700 meters. The river is 316 kilometers long; in the Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve the river flows through the mountain canyon of the same name, Aksu. The river flows into Lake Balkhash. It is possible to organize rafting on the Aksu River.
