The Tuyuksu glacier is a valley glacier located on the northern slopes of the Zailiyskiy Alatau. A wedge-shaped glacier stretches from south to north for 3.5 km, at the source of the Malaya Almatinka River, surrounded by glaciers (Molodezhny, Turistichesky, Mayakovsky, etc.), as well as other glaciers and passes (Z. The glacier is located in the upper reaches of the Maloe Almaty gorge along Nursultan Avenue, above Medeu and Chimbulak, on the northern slope of the Zailiyskiy Alatau.

You can look at the glacier from the Maloye Almaty gorge, you can also walk to the glacier from the same gorge. An asphalt road leads to the upper reaches of the Malaya Almatinka River. Several high-altitude popular hiking routes pass through the glacier; the entire area is famous for its nature and many routes for active recreation. On the way, you will pass the high-mountain skating rink Medeo, then Chimbulak and above the Tuyuksu Gate from where you can see the glacier itself. The glacier is gradually melting, this is due to global warming, a few years ago the glacier was much larger.
