Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya Glacier is a karov glacier that originates on the mountain peak of Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya, located at an altitude of 4000 meters above sea level. The glacier is one of the natural attractions of the region and a place of active recreation and mountaineering. The difficulty category of a mountain hike to the glacier is 2A, 2B. Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya glacier smoothly turns into the Tuyuksu glacier, both glaciers are located in the same mountain couloir, one road leads to the glaciers, a mountain trail that passes through the Small Almaty Gorge. There are several glaciers and many radial routes in this place. The glacier is named after the female warrior Zoya Kosmodemyanskaya, a woman who served in the Red Army in a group of scouts who were sent to the German rear of the enemy in 1941, the first woman to be awarded the title Hero of the Soviet Union.
