The Saty River is a mountain river, meandering like a mountain leopard's trail, born in the glaciers of the Tien Shan at an altitude of 3295 meters above sea level. The length of the river is 25 kilometers, it carries its crystal waters through the entire Kolsay Lakes National Park, flows through the village of Saty and flows into the Shilik (Chilik) River. The river gorge is located between two other famous mountain gorges, one of which contains the Kolsay Lakes, along which there is a popular mountain route that covers all three lakes. In the second mountain gorge is Lake Kaindy, famous for its flooded Tien Shan Forest and trees sticking out of the water. There is a mountain route along the Saty River, and a mountain road along which you can climb to the upper reaches of the gorge by car and set up a camp on the river bank. The route begins in the village of Saty, in the village there are guest houses and small hotels where you can stop for a rest or spend the night.

The Saty River is located in the Kungey Alatau Mountains, the Kolsay Lakes National Nature Park, the Saty village area, Kegen district, Almaty region, the Republic of Kazakhstan.
