Lake Bolshoe Uryukty (Big) is a high-mountain moraine lake, located in the Kolsay Lakes National Park at an altitude of 3050 meters above sea level near the border with Kyrgyzstan. The length of the lake is 400 meters, the width is 175 meters, the lake is very picturesque, it is surrounded by the most beautiful mountain peaks of the Kungey Alatau Mountains. A mountain route leads to the lake up the gorge through another no less beautiful and interesting lake Chon-Uryukty (Mazhi). To get to both of these lakes, careful preparation and planning of the mountain hike will be required, such a hike can take from 3 to 5 days. The best time to visit this location is July, at this time the weather in the mountains is stable and warm, and the surroundings of the lake are decorated with flowers such as blooming primroses and mountain edelweiss.

Lake Bolshoe Uryukty attracts tourists with its solitude and picturesque landscapes, offering opportunities for trekking and enjoying the pristine nature of mountainous Kazakhstan. This location is rarely visited, you will never meet crowds of tourists here, the places are perfect for a secluded mountain trip away from the bustle of the city and without access to the Internet. When visiting this location, you can organize a route to visit such natural attractions of the natural park as the Kolsay Lakes and Lake Kaindy. Also, in the park there are such mountain gorges where you can go on foot or get on horseback - this is the Kurmenty gorge and the Karasai gorge. These locations are accessible by 4x4 vehicles. All routes in the park start in the village of Saty, where there are guest houses and cafes where you can taste Kazakh national cuisine.

Lake Bolshoe Uryukty is located in the national natural park and reserve "Kolsay Lakes”, Kungey Alatau Mountains, the upper reaches of the Shilik (Chilik) River, Kegen district, Almaty region, Republic of Kazakhstan.
