Almaty city center and its architecture -

The Almaty Palace of Schoolchildren is the largest center for additional education of children in Kazakhstan, located in Almaty, where since 1983 children have been engaged in creativity, science and sports: there are clubs in choreography, music, drawing, theater, robotics, programming, chess and much more, all classes are free. The palace regularly hosts city, national and international competitions and festivals, becoming an important platform for discovering the talents of thousands of schoolchildren, many of whom started their career here. Built in 1983, the palace has become a real center for children's and youth creativity. His project was developed with special attention to aesthetics and functionality: spacious halls, modern auditoriums and laboratories, an assembly hall designed for hundreds of spectators, sports facilities and rehearsal rooms.

The architecture of the Palace of Schoolchildren is made in the style of late Soviet modernism, with extensive use of glass and concrete, which gives it a monumental and at the same time light appearance. The special pride of the palace is the planetarium, which opens up the fascinating world of space to children and adults with its telescope. Here you can observe the starry sky, listen to lectures about the universe and be inspired by the discoveries of great astronomers. The palace is surrounded by a small but beautiful park with huge fir trees and other trees. If you are walking in this area, then below the palace on Dostyk Street there is the Palace of the Republic on which there is a monument to Abai. Behind this palace there is a cable car that allows you to get to Kok-Tobe Mountain, which houses the Kok-Tobe amusement park and an observation deck on the city of Almaty. The Kazakhstan Hotel is also located in this area.

Information -

The Almaty Palace of Schoolchildren (Republican Palace of Pioneers and Schoolchildren) is an architectural structure in the city of Almaty. It was built in 1983 (architects V. K. Kim, A. P. Zuev, T. S. Abildaev and others). The architectural format of the building is unique: several rows of spiral structures are grouped into one place, and a giant dome 12 m high erected from there united the entire structure. To the left of the dome, the 40-meter-high observatory tower is flanked by spiral structures spread over two wings. The palace consists of a winter garden, a semicircular hall with 800 seats. A giant chandelier with 288 lamps is located in the celebration hall. The schoolchildren's palace also has a sports hall, a swimming pool, naturalists' rooms, art studios, etc. Karatau marble, Kordai and Balkhash granites, shell rock from Mangystau, wood, and metal were used in the construction of the building. In 1985, a monument to Gani Muratbayev, a public figure, was erected in front of the Palace of Schoolchildren. In 1984, the Palace of schoolchildren was included in the list of monuments of national importance.

The Almaty Palace of Schoolchildren is not just a circle or studio, but a whole world of opportunities for children, a unique space where several generations of Almaty residents have been finding their vocation, friends and developing their abilities. It is a real pride and cultural symbol of the city.
