Hall of Paleontology

The first visitors are greeted by the paleontology hall, revealing the ancient nature of our region. Many exhibits prove that 150 million years ago most of the region was occupied by lepidodendron forests and ferns, and 70 million years ago this region was a shallow sea. This hall presents samples of the ancient fauna of the region: the skeleton of the hipparion from the unique goose flight paleontological monument, the full skeleton of the large-horned deer found in the sediments of the Irtysh terrace, the skeleton of a mammoth collected as a result of excavations in various areas of the Irtysh region, as well as the skeletons of other extinct animals. The exposition of the archeology hall reflects the history of the region for thousands of years. It consists of finds obtained as a result of archaeological research, expeditions of the Institute of Archeology. OH. Margulan and Pavlodar archaeological expedition of the museum. Among the most ancient exhibits: stone tools found in the sites of the Paleolithic era. Cultural development during the Mesolithic is demonstrated by finds in the parking lot of Shiderty-3. At this site, a human burial was found. The exhibition presents finds from the burial grounds of Michurino-1 and Kara-Tumsyk of the Andronovo era. The pre-Andronovo period is represented by finds: bronze Celts, daggers, dart tips. In the hall you can see amazing exhibits of the Iron Age - two Sarmatian swords and akinaki, bronze solid bits, metal-plastic objects with samples of animal style, arrowheads of various types. In the section of medieval archeology, bridle sets, various bone and bronze buckles, bronze and gold earrings, a belt set are presented. The exposition also has a female headdress made of Bokka silver leaf, a silver mirror with plot scenes of a rider chasing an animal and ritual patch badges.

As a result of excavations carried out by paleontologist Yu.A. Orlov in 1928-1930, skeletons of many ancient animals belonging to the Neogene era were discovered. The skeleton of a large-horned deer is the pride of the museum. About 1.5 million years ago, the Pavlodar region of Irtysh was inhabited by ancient people. The evolution of the development of stone tools can be seen at the expositions of the Stone and Bronze Ages in the

Archeology hall

Hall of nomadic civilization.
The hall of nomadic civilization includes three main periods of the history of Pavlodar: the ancient Stone Age, Kimak Haganate, and the era of the Golden Horde. One part of the exposition is presented in the form of wall paintings depicting the nomad of the Khan's horde, and one of the doors of the next hall is made in the style of the entrance to the mausoleum of the Altyn Orda era. The yurt and its decoration are presented in the ethnographic hall: carpets, mats, a bed, a cupboard, besik (baby cradle), a table, chests and other household items give an idea of the life of the Kazakhs. The exposition contains samples of men's and women's clothing, belts, jewelry, musical instruments. Part of the hall’s exposition imitates a room in a wooden house with a Russian stove and household items.

Life Hall of the Kazakhs people

The next room tells us about the life of the Kazakhs in the XVIII-XIX centuries. Particular attention is paid to the "Horde Abylay Khan." A well-known figure of the Kazakh people in the 18th century, a native of Bayanaul Bukhar zhyrau, is depicted in the military tent of Abylay khan. Next to him is Olzhabay Batyr. Kazakh troops led by Olzhabay and Zhasybai batyrs liberated our lands from the Dzungarian invasion.
Malaysary batyr chain mail, donated to the museum by its descendants, other cold and firearms: saber, dagger, chain mail, broadsword, infantry cleaver, flintlock are unique exhibits of traditional Kazakh weapons. The find by Kosymom Pishenbaev in 1867 of the place of coal paved the way for the development of coal production. This is explained by photographs and documents in the installation "Coal production in the mine" beginning of the twentieth century. The Pavlodar region is also known to us as a shopping center. In this regard, the museum is equipped with the hall “Merchant Life”. Various products are presented there - antique furniture from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, harmonium, cupboard with dishes, gramophone, wooden table, two armchairs, a Venetian glass mirror, a chandelier, a manual cash register of pre-revolutionary times.
The next hall of the exposition is dedicated to the troubled period between the two world wars. The 1917 revolution, the formation of the Alash party, the Civil War, collectivization, industrialization, repression and persecution in the 30s were presented to visitors in photographs and documents.

Hall of the Great Patriotic War (Second World War)

The theme of World War II is dedicated to a separate corner of the museum. Also, the years of the development of virgin lands are separately presented. Here is the installation "Life of the First Virgin Soil". The museum also presents photographs, scientific, artistic works and personal belongings of a famous scientist, public, cultural and literary figure, the founder of the Scientific Academy of Kazakhstan K.I. Satbayeva. The hall of the 25th anniversary of Independence of the Republic of Kazakhstan shows the period of formation of the state of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the leadership of the First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev. The implementation of the accelerated industrial and innovative development program has borne fruit: 169 projects have been implemented in the Pavlodar region, 15 of them are of republican scale. According to the Road Map program, in the villages of Pavlodar region, social and cultural objects were restored and new ones were opened.
