Culture tours in Kostanay city.
In 2000, in the Year of Culture Support, the Regional Kazakh Drama Theater was founded in Kostanay (formerly known as Kustanai). At the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, the theater was named after the famous statesman and public figure of Kazakhstan Ilyas Omarov

On September 14, 2000, at the official opening, which was attended by the head of state, the premiere of the performance of Abish Kekilbaev "Abylai Khan" took place.
At the head of the creative team was director Zhambylbek Esenbekov. Experienced actors from different cities of the republic were invited for the formation and creative development of the theater.
On January 12, 2012, the theater moved to a new modern standard building. The perfect decoration and beautiful view of the building still delight residents and visitors alike. In August 2012, President Nursultan Nazarbayev visited the theater and praised the performance of the actors.
Since the founding of the theater, the acting troupe has repeatedly participated in various festivals of republican and international proportions and won in various nominations.
Omarov theater repertoire.
At present, the theater’s repertoire consists of more than 30 productions of domestic and foreign classics, as well as contemporary drama.
The performances of the drama theater are a real celebration for all fans of theatrical art, as well as a rare opportunity to see talented actors performing on the same stage. Every month the theater goes on small thematic tours in the districts of the region, and is also actively involved in the cultural life of the city.
