Kim-Asar is the name of the picturesque mountain gorge and the most beautiful mountain river flowing through the gorge. In the upper reaches of the gorge there is a mountain or Furmanovka peak 3053 meters above sea level. This is the most popular mountain in the vicinity of the city of Almaty, which is climbed every day. The route is not difficult and is suitable even for novice travelers.

The gorge is located in the mountains of the Trans-Ili Alatau in the Maloalmatinsky gorge in the Ile-Alatau park. The ascent to the gorge starts from the Medeu skating rink on the east side.

The Kimasar River is a left tributary of the Bolshaya Almatinka River. A mountain trail runs along the river, along which you can climb to the upper reaches of the gorge and further to Furmanov peak. Furmanov Peak is named after Dmitry Ivanovich Furmanov, commissar of the 25th Chapayev division. There are two private ski slopes in the gorge. In winter, you can go skiing here. There are several routes in the tract; the main route leads to Furmanov peak.
