The Palace of Peace and Accord houses the Assembly of the People of Kazakhstan, the Center for Interethnic and interreligious harmony, a museum, a university, an opera hall with 1.5 thousand seats, an extensive central atrium and a winter garden. The Palace building was built taking into account the constantly changing weather, and a sharp temperature drop.

Architecture

The Palace of Peace and Harmony was built by the Sembol Inshaat tourist construction company according to the project of the world-famous architect Norman Foster as a venue for meetings of leaders of world and traditional religions. The main feature of this complex is that the building is built on the principle of the Fibonacci golden section. In addition, the base of the building is made of a square with a height and width of 62 meters. There are exhibition halls, a conference hall, a winter garden, a concert and opera hall for 1,500 spectators. Due to the fact that the interiors are made in burgundy-gold tones and provided with modern equipment, there are many opportunities for quality work. Next to the stage there is a 2.8-meter orchestra platform, designed for 80 musicians. The festive hall covers an area of more than 2000 square meters and can accommodate up to 1000 people at a time. The largest hall occupies an area of 2000 sq. m. The Atrium of Cheops hall. In this hall is the composition of the main development plan of the capital Astana until 2030.

The meetings of the leaders of world and traditional religions are held in a round hall located at the very top of the pyramid, decorated with stained glass windows in the colors of the National Flag of Kazakhstan, modeled on the hall of the UN Security Council. A large stained glass window, created by the artist Brian Clark, is the decoration of the hall, which offers a panoramic view of the capital. It is held by four pillars that "symbolize the hand of peace." On one floor there is a research center of world religions with a large library. Hanging gardens are installed on the walls bent to the center of the pyramid. Another proof that this building is a place of unification of representatives of different religions and nationalities is that the pyramid is surrounded by a large glass dome, which depicts a group of 130 flying pigeons representing the population of Kazakhstan, as well as representatives of different nationalities living in the world under one roof. At night, the dome of the building is illuminated, symbolizing the unity of different cultures, religions, and people, like a lighthouse.
