Excursion to the National Museum of Astana
The National Museum of the Republic of Kazakhstan is located at 54 Tauelsizdik Street in the capital city of Astana.
The museum in Astana, Kazakhstan's capital, was opened on July 2, 2014, after six years of construction by then-President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev. The museum building occupies approximately 74,000 square meters and is divided into seven blocks, containing a total of 14 halls.
It covers the history and culture of Kazakhstan from ancient times to the present day. Of particular note are the Hall of Independent Kazakhstan (Kazakhstan Independence Hall) and the Astana Hall, dedicated to the history of Astana, formerly Nur-Sultan. The entrance hall is adorned with an impressive gilded eagle hovering next to a large map of the country.
Many Bronze Age ornaments are on display in the Golden Hall. The Ethnography Hall features exhibits dedicated to the nomadic culture of Kazakhstan, among other things.

Tour itinerary:
During the tour of the National Museum of History of Kazakhstan, we will visit various archaeological, ethnographic, and historical-cultural monuments of Kazakhstan. Afterwards, we will visit the exhibitions on ancient and medieval history, as well as modern history.
The tour of the National Museum of History also includes a tour of the Gold and Ethnography Halls, as well as the Independence Hall of Kazakhstan and the Astana Hall. Our tour concludes with a visit to the Contemporary Art Hall.
The idea of creating a new national museum in the capital of Kazakhstan was announced by the head of state on March 17, 1998, at an expanded meeting of the state commission for the Year of National Unity and National History. In accordance with the instruction of the President of Kazakhstan dated June 13, 2008, the Astana Akimat and the Ministry of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan have begun practical steps to create an international-level museum.
The new National History Museum is unique in Central Asia. The museum occupies an area of over 74,000 square meters. It houses archaeological, ethnographic, and historical-cultural monuments of Kazakhstan, from prehistoric times to the present day. The Museum of Kazakhstan's History includes halls dedicated to Astana, Independent Kazakhstan, gold, ancient and medieval history, ethnography, and contemporary art.
The museum building consists of seven blocks (from two to eight stories) with a total area of 74,000 square meters. Over 14,000 square meters of this space is dedicated to exhibitions, and 5,000 square meters are dedicated to storage facilities. The museum building houses exhibitions dedicated to ancient and medieval history, modern history, gold, ethnography, Independent Kazakhstan, Astana, and contemporary art.
The museum also features spaces for temporary exhibitions, restoration workshops, laboratories, a library with a reading room, and conference rooms. The new National History Museum is the largest in Central Asia. Its halls house archaeological, ethnographic, and historical-cultural monuments of Kazakhstan, spanning from prehistoric times to the present day.
The museum is equipped with modern equipment that meets high standards and international standards. State-of-the-art exhibition technologies are used to illuminate the exhibits: a unique curved screen, a media floor, a dynamic model of the central part of modern Astana, numerous media screens, holograms, LED technology, touchscreen kiosks, and a multimedia guide.
The museum building is planned to house exhibitions from several museums, including the History Museum, the Museum of Gold and Precious Metals, and the Art Museum.
