Monument of 28 Panfilov Heroes in Astana

In Zheruyyk Park there is a monument-a monument to 28 Panfilov heroes who during the Great Patriotic War showed bravery and a hefty ability to handle grenades and heavy anti-tank guns, thereby stopping the tank attack of nazi Germany near the capital of the USSR, Moscow. The Baiterek monument is also located in the park as a symbol of the park. Ivan Panfilov, Hero of the Soviet Union, stands on the pedestal. The ceremony and opening of the monument took place on Defender of the Fatherland Day and on the eve of the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory.
