Architectural monuments of Astana – sights of the capital of Kazakhstan –
The Military History Museum -in Astana opened on December 1, 2015. The opening ceremony was attended by the first President of Kazakhstan N.A. Nazarbayev. The museum contains exhibits testifying to the military history of the Kazakh steppe from ancient times to the present day. On the square around the open-air museum, military equipment from the Second World War and the present time is installed. Here you can see the legendary T-34 tank, which took part in the fighting.

The Military History Museum is a building of four floors, walking along which you can see the full military potential of the past and present. The exposition includes the following halls: "Antiquity — XIX century", "Weapons of XX–XXI centuries", "Military history of the XX century", "Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan", "Fine Arts". The Hall of Antiquity takes us to the distant past, where we can observe the development of weapons and military skills. In the hall of weapons, you can look at modern pistols and submachine guns, and other modern weapons. In the hall of military history, a "Wall of Memory" is installed on which the names of the knights of the Orders of Glory, Heroes of the Soviet Union and holders of the highest state award of Kazakhstan "People's Hero" are projected. The Hall of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan shows us the weapons that our republic possesses. The Hall of Fine Art shows us paintings, graphic and sculptural compositions dedicated to the military events of the past of Kazakhstan
