The gazebo on the banks of the Syr-Darya River is an open wooden veranda on the closed, protected territory of the "General Zero Quarter". Here, in April 1961, the members of the state commission met with a detachment of cosmonauts. During the meeting, Yuri Gagarin was approved as the first pilot-cosmonaut of the USSR. Previously, the gazebo was located near the shore of the Syr Darya. By 2007, the gazebo was rebuilt anew on the old foundation, architectural features are preserved.
