The Northern Karkuldek is a moraine lake located at an altitude of 3336 meters above sea level. The length of the lake from east to west is 245 meters, the width in the western part of the lake is 120 meters. 1200 meters southwest of Lake Severny Karkuldek is Lake Sredny Karkuldek, located at an altitude of 3453 meters above sea level. 1900 meters southwest of Lake Severny Karkuldek is Lake Nizhny Karkuldek at an altitude of 3352 meters above sea level.

Severny Karkuldek Lake is located in the upper reaches of the western tributary of the K%Arkuldek River, on the southern slope of the Dzungarian Alatau ridge in the Eskeldinsky district of Almaty region.

Information -
The area of the Northern Karkuldek Lake is 23780 square meters, the perimeter of the lake is 667 meters. To the west and northwest of the lake is the North Karkuldek glacier with a length of 1.4 kilometers. The area of the glacier is 0.2 square kilometers, the perimeter is 3.16 kilometers. The western shore of the lake is in close contact with the eastern part of the glacier. The lake is located in a glacial circus, which in the upper part is closed by a moraine, it is a hollow in the form of an amphitheater, closing the upper end of the glacial valley. Northwest of the lake, in addition to a small glacier on the slopes there are snow, firn and individual ice masses that feed the lake.
Northwest of the lake, at a distance of 1.8 kilometers, there is an unnamed peak with a height of 4057 meters above sea level, which closes the northern part of the circus. 545 meters south-west of the North Karkuldek Lake, behind the rocky ridge is the Karkuldek Lake located at an altitude of 3540 meters above sea level. 300 meters to the south and a little to the east of the North Karkuldek Lake is the South Karkuldek Lake, located at an altitude of 3137 meters above sea level.
