Shakpak Ata is a necropolis of the XIV-XX centuries, a sacred, sacred place, a place of pilgrimage on the Mangyshlak peninsula. its location refers to the famous underground mosque Shakpak Ata and is located in close proximity to the mosque, which is cut into the slope of the cliff. The necropolis is a complex of ancient tombs, mausoleums, monuments, saganatams, koytas, kulpytas stelae and stone sarcophagi. Here are presented both very ancient mausoleums and monuments and modern ones.

Shakpak Ata necropolis is located in Mangystau region, 30 kilometers from the village of Tauchik, Tupkaragan district, Kazakhstan.

Information -

Shakpak Ata necropolis belongs to the Oguzo-Kipchak period, the whole complex is divided into two parts, the first part is represented by the Turkmen part, the second part belongs to the late Kazakh period. The age of the necropolis is dated in different ways, the exact dating is not known, but it varies within the XIV-XVI centuries, XVIII-XIX centuries. In 2008, excavations and various kinds of research were carried out at the necropolis under the guidance of such researchers as A.Astafyev, M.Kalmenov, E.Khorosh, L.Bisembiev.
