Dombaul is a mausoleum, VIII—IX centuries, a medieval architectural monument of Kazakhstan. The mausoleum is a square building at its base, then has a pyramidal shape topped with a dome. The building looks like a Kazakh yurt, apparently during the construction of the monument the yurt was used as a model. There is no exact dating of this complex, there is only approximate data on the age of the building, some scientists believe that the monument is very ancient and much older than the official dating indicated.

Dombaul Mausoleum is located in Ulytau region, Ulytau district, 50 kilometers from the city of Zhezkazgan, the left bank of the Karakengir River. GPS coordinates: N48°11'36" E67°50'41"

Information -

Dombaul Mausoleum is a stone building, the area of the lower part is 8.9× 7.9 m, the wall thickness is about 2 m, the area of the inner part is 4x4 m, the door is oval in shape, located on the south-eastern side. This includes four stairs with a total height of 1.2 m. The floor of the complex is lined with a stone mixture, on top of which flat tile stones are laid. The walls were raised by Zm and were covered with cross beams. The technology is taken from the ancient tradition of masonry since the Bronze Age. The complex is well preserved, but was partially destroyed. There is still no data determining the exact period of the monument's existence and when it was exactly built.

Legend of Dombaul -

Legend has it that Dombaul Mausoleum was built in honor of the great composer and warrior Dombaul, and its existence is intertwined with history and myth (fairy tale-legend). The mausoleum building is built of stone slabs located on a square base of a conical shape with a height of more than five meters. The Dombaul Mausoleum was remembered by scientists because the building is one of the oldest structures in Kazakhstan. Dombaul is believed to have been built during the reign of the Huns.
