Ykylas Dukenov is a Kazakh composer, musician, master of playing the kobyz (Kazakh national musical instrument), born in 1843 in the Karaganda region, Zhanaarkinsky district. Ykyllas was born and grew up in a family of a dynasty of musicians who played the kobyz, Ykylas also knew how to make musical instruments himself, Ykylas began playing various musical instruments in early childhood when he was only 7 years old, already at the age of 15 he performed at big concerts. Ykylas has always perfected kobyz, he wanted to make the most perfect kobyz with the clearest and purest sound.
