Ishan Bazar is a mosque–madrasah of the XVIII century, an architectural monument, a sacred sacred place, a place of pilgrimage for pilgrims from all over the world. After the mosque was built, religious, social and cultural events worthy of that time were organized in it. People gathered at the market every week, and during the holidays they watched national games such as wrestling and horse racing. That is why the monument is named "Ishan Bazar Mosque". Later it was named "Akkoyly madrasah" after the name of the local tribe. Once upon a time, the national poet Nuraly Nysanbayuly studied at this madrasah during his apprenticeship.

The Ishan Bazar Mosque (madrasah) is located in the village of Akkoyly, 10 kilometers from the village of Kutarys, Ordabasinsky district, Turkestan region, Republic of Kazakhstan. GPS coordinates: 42°35'48"N 69°30'01"E

Information -

Ishan Bazar Mosque (Akkoyly) This historical and architectural monument has a length of 34 meters, a width of 20 meters and a height of 18 meters. Rectangular baked square bricks were used for the construction of the walls. The building, consisting of fourteen domes, was built in the style of Iranian, Central Asian architecture. Friday and holiday prayers were held here. Octagonal troughs are carved in the lower part of the domes. The interior walls are square in shape with thin rectangular lines decorated with belts and patterns. During the period of collectivization, the mosque was used for construction materials, its bricks were stolen, the building fell into disrepair and became abandoned, later the building was turned into a chicken coop, pigsty and fertilizer warehouse.

With the support of citizens, a reconstruction project of the Ishan Bazar mosque (Akkoyly) was created in 1986, money was allocated from the local budget. In 1989, the repair work was started by a team led by the regional head of the Turkestan repair and restoration workshop B. Tashkaraev. In 2001, Shymkent businessman Musaev Shukirat Ergeshuly used his own funds to buy carpenters and bricks in the city of Khorezm and did a good job of restoring the mosque. According to the decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated February 12, 2004, money was allocated from the republican budget for the overhaul of the building of the Ishan-Bazar mosque. The restoration work was carried out by a group led by A. Khalilaev, now the building has been completely restored and is waiting for its guests and pilgrims.
