Bestamak is an ancient necropolis, a sacred sacred place and a place of pilgrimage in the Kostanay region. The necropolis was discovered by chance by a local nomad in 1991. After the discovery of the Bestamak necropolis, archaeological excavations and research began here, research was carried out here for a long time until 2008. The research was carried out on an area of 9,000 square meters. Ancient ritual structures and ancient burials were discovered here.

The Bestamak necropolis is a monument to several archaeological cultures of the Kostanay region. The necropolis dates back to the Neolithic period, which is three millennia BC. During excavations at the necropolis, ancient artifacts were discovered such as stone arrowheads, a knife, scrapers and flat stone fragments, a stone awl, small round objects, balls made of bronze and some kind of iron alloy. The jewelry contains animal bones, shells and stones, and amber beads. The peculiarity of the Bestamak necropolis is that community members paid a lot of attention and time to the funeral. The grave pits are large and deep (length 4 m, width 3.5 m, depth 3.35 m), the sacrificial animal is placed together with the buried people, and there are many funerary objects. The inner wall of the grave pit is lined with logs. The types of animals sacrificed are also clearly visible. A lot of pottery was found in burial pits. In the Bestamak necropolis, several periods of ancient cultures were discovered: the Alakol and Fedorovsk cultures, very ancient, late Bronze Age burials, early Iron Age burials, and medieval burials. The necropolis is an archaeological site of the region and a tourist site.
