Architectural and natural attractions of Akmola region -
Shalgai-necropolis, an architectural monument, an ancient sacral and sacred place on the territory of the Akmola region. Ancient burial places are very revered by the people of Kazakhstan; Kazakhs honor the spirit of their ancestors and always come to such monuments, make pilgrimages, and the Shalgai necropolis is one of such places. The necropolis is a complex of ancient burials of different periods; there are also the ancient burial mounds of Shalgai and the Shalgai mausoleum. Mausoleums are ancient burial grounds, built of clay bricks and lined with flat stones, round, triangular and square shapes.
