Milykuduk is an ancient city, a settlement of the first Kazakh metallurgists, the city is famous for the fact that metallurgy was practiced here, various metals were smelted. The Mylykuduk settlement was first explored in 1929 by a group of archaeologists; it was found that the city dates back to the Bronze Age and the city existed until the Middle Ages. The second name of the city sounds like Elukuduk, which translated from the Kazakh language means 50 wells, and this settlement is also known as the settlement of Zhezkazgan. During excavations in the city, ore dumps were discovered, and ancient tools with which this ore was processed were hammers, mortars, and pestles.

The city of Milykuduk is located 12 kilometers from the city of Zhezkazgan, 1 kilometer from the Zhezkazgan mine, Zhezdy River valley, Ulytau region, Republic of Kazakhstan.

The settlement of Milykuduk was also explored in 1939 by a famous researcher from the city of Zhezkazgan, K.I. Satpayev. The thickness of the layers during the study reached 2.5 meters; in another place the thickness was 3.5 meters. During the excavations, ceramics were discovered with beautiful ornaments depicted on them, and tools made from materials such as quartzite, flint and other hard rocks were also found. In addition to ancient artifacts, dwellings lined with large granite and sandstone stones were found and excavated at the Milykuduk site. One of the assumptions was that the city was an ancient metallurgical plant in which people lived and worked.
