Monument to Zhambyl Zhabayev was erected in Ust-Kamenogorsk, and a monument to the great Kazakh poet Zhambyl Zhabayev was solemnly opened in the park named after Zhambyl. The project was implemented on the initiative of regional akim Danial Akhmetov. The authors of the monument are famous sculptors Sarsen Seitov and Kazybek Dulatov. The height of the monument is about two and a half meters and is a bronze image of Zhambyl Zhabayev playing the dombra, installed on a round pedestal consisting of several steps.

Zhambyl Zhabayev - a great poet, poet, singer, born on February 28, 1846 near Mount Zhambul, came from two families of the Shapyrashty tribe. From a young age, he grew up filled with poetry and songs, mastered the art of speech, participated in art competitions, and spent eighty-five of the hundred years of his life in poetry. The creative life of Zhambyl began in the 70s of the 19th century. It was a very difficult period for the Kazakh people. Zhambyl always spoke and wrote only the truth, described the reality of that time without hiding it. The poet Zhambyl took an active part in the national liberation movement of 1916. He walked among crowds of people rebelling against the authorities. He published his passionate poems dedicated to this movement. During the years of Soviet power, Zhambyl sang about public life and the interests of the country. He re-educated the traditions of the great indigenous tribes and brought them into our era in a new quality, enriched with content. In his songs addressed to heads of state and party leaders, he raised national issues. During World War II, there was no poet of higher rank and status in the entire Soviet Union than Zhambyl. It was during this period that the name of Zhambyl became known throughout the world. The poet's poems penetrated the hearts of all soldiers of different nationalities at the front and strengthened their courage. On June 22, 1945, Zhambyl died in Almaty at the age of one hundred years. The work of the poet Zhambyl Zhabayev was widespread among the Kazakh people in written and oral form. In his works you can see his love for his homeland. He included the sadness and freedom of people, the bravery of historical figures and heroes, criticized bad conditions in society and wrote a poem about honesty, valor, joy and love. The poet's works were distributed among the people orally and were subsequently translated into several languages. Today his works can be read in books published in Russia, China, Great Britain, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
