The monument to Viktor Ivanovich Patsaev was erected in Aktobe in 1976. In 1971, Viktor flew into space on the Soyuz-11 spacecraft as a test pilot. His partner G. T. Dobrovolsky also flew in a team with Viktor. The monument is a bust of the hero mounted on a stone stele, the total height of the monument is 4 meters. There is a plaque on the monument that reads: "Viktor Ivanovich Patsaev, cosmonaut, Hero of the Soviet Union." Sculptors Y.A. Tur and A. A. Zavarzin participated in the manufacture of the monument. The object is included in the list of historical and cultural monuments of national importance.

Viktor Ivanovich Patsaev pilot-cosmonaut of the USSR, Hero of the Soviet Union. Born on June 19, 1933 in Aktobe. After graduating from the Penza Industrial Institute (now the Polytechnic Institute) (1955), he worked at the Central Aerological Observatory and the design bureau of the USSR Hydromedical Service. In 1969, he was accepted into the cosmonaut corps. On June 6, 1971, as a tester of the Soyuz-11 spacecraft, G.T. Dobrovolsky and V.N. Patsayev flew into space. On June 7 of the same year, the Soyuz-11 spacecraft completed the docking operation with the Salyut scientific station and spent about 23 days in space, a total of 25 days. The flight program was fully completed; he died along with other crew members due to a leak in the ship upon landing. Awarded the Order of Lenin. He was buried near the Kremlin wall on Red Square. In Aktobe there are streets, squares, schools, and economic groups named after Patsayev. On June 19, 1972, the ceremonial laying of the monument-bust to the pilot-cosmonaut was laid. The authors of the monument - sculptor Yu. A. Tur and architect A. A. Zavarzin - completed a large-scale work. Bust height is 2 meters. The monument was opened in 1976.
