Astana Opera: A Temple of Classical Art

Majestic neoclassical building on the left bank of the Ishim River -

World masterpieces of opera and ballet in the heart of Kazakhstan -

The Astana Opera Theater, opened in 2013 in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana, is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful and technically advanced theaters in the world. This grandiose structure, built according to the best traditions of Antiquity, Baroque, and Kazakh national style, covers an area of 64,000 square meters.

Masters from 33 countries worked on the appearance of the building, and the acoustic systems were designed by leading specialists from Italy and Germany, making the theater a benchmark for high art. Opposite the theater building is Lovers' Park with the Lovers' Monument (My Happiness).

The main hall, designed for 1,250 spectators, is striking in its luxury: the interiors are decorated with Sicilian marble and gold leaf, while the lobby ceiling features hand-painted scenes of the Charyn Canyon and Lake Borovoe. The technical equipment of the stage allows for the implementation of the most complex directorial decisions, ensuring rapid scenery changes.

The theater has become not just a concert venue, but a national treasure where the traditions of Kazakh opera and ballet are carefully preserved and developed alongside world classics. The theater is located in the immediate vicinity of Nurzhol Boulevard and Round Square.
