Petroglyphs of Kazakhstan, we invite you to visit the ancient rock art in the Almaty region. This tour includes visits to such petroglyphs as Bayan Zhurek, petroglyphs in the Tasbas tract, petroglyphs of Eshkiolmes. All rock paintings are located within the Almaty region, so we can see them all in a few days. This tour to the rock art can be combined and made shorter as you wish.
Petroglyph - rock art, carved from stone (rock art) of prehistoric times, petroglyphs are engraved, scratched or stamped. Petroglyphs are found all over the world, except for Antarctica. The images often hold great cultural and religious significance for the communities from which they originate. Recognizing the meaning of petroglyphs is possible, if at all, only with a very good knowledge of the culture in question. The study of the meaning of petroglyphs is the subject of archeology and ethnology.
There are three main petroglyph techniques that can often be used for the same motif:
• Engraving - applying thin lines to the rock with a hard object;
• Scraping refers to the indentation of surfaces with a rubbing motion;
• Knocking - refers to the deepening of surfaces by percussive or tapping motions.

Tour itinerary:
Arrival in Almaty apple city – transfer from airport to hotel – hotel accommodation – rest.
City sightseeing: Almaty Kazakh state museum (natural and ancient histories, ethnography, modern) Museum of Folk Music Instruments, Cathedral palace, Medeo sport complex (H1690) and Shymbulak sport complex (H2260) in mountains. Lunch at the local restaurant. After lunch visiting Kok Tobe mount, cable way to Kok Tobe mount, walking around, panorama of Almaty city. Dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Transfer: Almaty apple city – Bayan Jurek petroglyphs (364 km).
By the way we will see Kapchagay reservoir and Kapchagay hydro station, Arharli pass (H 1086), Taldy Kurgan city, Kapal village. Lunch on the way, Arrival at Bayan Jurek petroglyphs, visiting settlements with petroglyphs, dinner, night camping.

Transfer: Bayan Jurek petroglyphs – Sacrificial Stones Garden –Tasbas cemetery – Bayan Jurek stone statue (13 km).
Till the lunch time we will be at the Bayan Jurek petroglyphs place, on the south side Bayan Jurek mountains, after lunch transfer to Bayan Jurek stone statue, by the way visiting sacrificial stones garden, arriving in Tasbas area and tract of Kara Bien river, walking around, visiting old settlements, walking to Bayan Jurek mountains, stone statue, back to our base camp on the Kara Bien river, dinner, night camping.

Transfer: Tasbas tract – Bayan Jurek mountains – Taldykorgan city – Koksu river – Eshkiolmes petroglyphs (167 km).
By the way we will see bronze century kurgan hills, visiting hills. Lunch on the way. In Taldykorgan visiting museum of history of Almaty area, Koksu river, Koksu gorge, petroglyphs place, visitng 1 and 2 groups of Eshkiolmes petroglyphs, dinner and camping on the Koksu river.

Transfer: Eshkiolmes place – Almaty apple city (277 km).
Lunch on the way, arriving in Almaty city, hotel accommodation, free time, dinner and overnight at the hotel.
Transfer: Almaty apple city – Kopa train station – Karabastu village – Tamgali tract (160 km).
Same road from Almaty city to Bishkek, crossing Samsi and Targap villages, and on the 100 km turn right, to Kopa train station, 60 km and we will come to Tamgali hills beautiful place, walking around, visiting petroglyphs, excursion, back to Almaty, hotel rest.
