We leave Almaty for the Medeo Gorge. After a fourteen-kilometer ride, we'll take the funicular up to the Bolshoi Talgar Pass. The cable car ride is 7.5 kilometers. If the third cable car isn't operational, we'll only have to ascend to the "20th pillar," from where we'll hike to the pass, where we'll begin our hike through the Trans-Ili Alatau mountains. From the pass, we'll head to the Alpine Rose meadow, a nine-kilometer journey that takes four to five hours. Lunch will be served during the hike.
Next, we descend to the Maly Talgarsky Pass and continue into the Left Talgar Gorge, passing a small lake and descending to the Sauruk-Sai Stream, which flows from the lower moraine of the Bogdanovich Glacier, which we saw from the Bolshoi Talgarsky Pass. We then follow a well-trodden trail to the Maly Talgarsky Pass, a small ridge.
After an hour's journey, we reach the Left Talgar River. We continue along the left bank of the river through a dense coniferous forest. Passing through the forest, we reach the Alpine Rose meadow. We set up camp, have dinner, and rest.

We then proceed to Touristov Pass, passing small moraine lakes.
From the pass, we'll enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains and peaks, including Sovetskikh Alpinistov, SSU (Sverdlovsk State University), Dzerzhinsky, Sovetov Peak, Lokomotiv Peak, Pogrebetsky Peak, Tuyuksu Peak, and Ozerny Peak.
