Tour to Mashat Canyon from Shymkent or Taraz -
Mashat is the name of a picturesque mountain gorge of the same name, located within the Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve. The river that flows through this gorge is also called Mashat. Residents of Shymkent, Taraz, and nearby villages primarily come here for recreation.
How to get there and visit -
The Mashat Canyon-Gorge is located in the Turkestan Region of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The distance from the village of Zhabagly to the canyon is 67 kilometers. The distance from Shymkent to the gorge is 50 kilometers, facing southeast. You won't get lost here, and the main landmark is Shymkent.
Tourist Information
Excursions, trekking, and simply relaxing on the banks of the Mashat River are available in the Mashat Canyon. Here you can also see the famous Kazakh wild tulips blooming in early spring. The famous Lemmers tulip grows here. Various recreation centers are located in and around the gorge.
