Trip to Kurtogay Canyon from Almaty -
Jeep tour of the Almaty region to the Charyn canyon and lakes Kolsai and Kaindy -
Kurtogay is a tract, a picturesque natural attraction, there is a panoramic point from which it offers a beautiful view of the tract. When traveling to the tract you can see and visit the Charyn Canyon. The view from the panoramic point opens up to the Charyn River below, the blue color of which is mesmerizing. Here you can enjoy the wonderful nature of the area. We recommend traveling to this area in late spring and early summer; at this time you will find an abundance of greenery and unique colors. From the panoramic platform you can go down to the river and have lunch in the shade of the trees. If you wish, you can swim here in small backwaters, but you must follow safety precautions and, of course, know how to swim. The legend of the Kurtogay tract and canyon says that this is a magical mystical place where fairy-tale creatures such as gnomes, witches and elves live. Locals call this canyon “the road to hell.” The Kurtogay tract and canyon are included in the list of specially protected areas of the Almaty region.
