Jeep tour from the city of Aralsk to Lake Zhaksykylysh -
Zhaksykylysh is a Salt Lake, table salt is mined here for all of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Russia, the lake is one of the natural attractions of the Kyzylorda region. It is best to visit the lake on sunny cloudless days, then you can take colorful photos and enjoy the scenery. On a clear day, the sky is reflected in the waters of the lake, which makes the place unusually beautiful. Salt mining on Lake Zhaksykylysh has been going on since 1913, in 1925 a railway and infrastructure were built here for more convenient salt mining. The thickness of the salt layers is 1-2 meters, in parallel, sodium sulfate is mined on the lake. In recent decades, Lake Zhaksykylysh has suffered from the drying up of the Aral Sea basin, and the surface of the lake has now shrunk considerably. The lake is shallow, and water appears only after the snow melts in the spring. In July, the lake turns into a dry, saline depression.
