Tour Eagles Hunting in Almaty region
Eagle Hunting is a traditional form of hunting found in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan. The Kazakh people, who led a nomadic lifestyle, were in harmony with nature. Nomads considered nature an integral part of their lives and understood well that the deeper they learn the secrets of nature, the more meaningful and interesting life becomes. Knowledge and experience of communicating with nature is not only the basis of existence, but also a way to spend time in a meaningful and fun way. One of them is associated with hunting with tamed birds eagles and falcons and Kazakh greyhounds for various kinds of game such as hare, fox, small deer. There were cases that hunters went hunting for several people, each had a war eagle for hunting and they hunted wolves in a pack, one eagle cannot cope with a wolf, but when there are several eagles, they can defeat one wolf. The great masters of this art are widely revered among the Kazakh people.
From time immemorial, the Kazakh people, being close to nature, studied the habits of animals and birds. Thanks to their knowledge and experience, Kazakh hunters were able to tame animals for hunting, such as eagles, falcons and Kazakh greyhounds (dogs). The experience of training eagles and falcons has lasted for centuries - it is both an art and a deep skill. According to historical data, the art of hunting with birds appeared three thousand years ago. In Kazakhstan, competitions are held every year among families who still keep eagles, falcons, work with them, and hunt. This is a very spectacular event, a lot of people gather at it and everyone watches the hunting of eagles for game.

Tour itinerary:
Almaty city - Guldala village - Bayterek village (Low–water) - Chilik village - Bayseit village - Almaty region (140 km)
Breakfast at the hotels in Almaty, departure to the Almaty region to our friends where the Berkutchi family lives (those who breed eagles and falcons), we leave the city of Almaty to the place where we will hunt. We will pass many villages located along the Kuldzhinsky tract. Having reached the village where the family lives who keeps eagles for hunting, we go to visit them, get acquainted with the family, listen to stories, get acquainted with the bird, the sons will tell us how to hunt properly with the golden eagle and all the nuances. Also, in special bird enclosures, we will observe golden eagles. Next, we move on to other enclosures in which hunting dogs are located. After that we will visit the museum in the house of golden eagle hunters. Next, we are waiting for a demonstration hunt with a golden eagle. After that, we have dinner in a yurt in the berkutchi house and go to the village of Bayseit, or to the village of Chilik. After driving twenty kilometers and finding ourselves in the village, we stay in a guest house and relax.
Bayseit village (Chilik) - Kokpek village - Charyn Canyon - Almaty city (285 km).
Tomorrow at the guest house. Transfer to the Charyn Canyon. After driving eighty kilometers, we find ourselves at the descent into the canyon. We walk along the canyon to the river of the same name Charyn, as well as to the Glade of castles. We look around and take pictures. Our walk in one direction will be three kilometers. Then we return to the cars and drive out to the panoramic platform, which offers a picturesque view of the Charyn Canyon. We admire the views and take pictures, after which we leave for the city of Almaty.
1. Demonstration hunting is carried out with a golden eagle only for a hare, rabbit or fox. The bait is prepared in advance by the family who conducts a demonstration hunt.
2. Hunting with golden eagle is carried out within one day. If there is bad weather during the hunt, for example, rain, hunting with a golden eagle will not be carried out. In this case, you can try to wait out the bad weather in hotels in the villages of Bayseit or Chilik. Meals and accommodation in hotels are paid by the tour customer.
3. If the weather is bad on other days, we will refund your payment except for the expenses we made.
4. Horses can be provided to observe hunting with a golden eagle, at your request, but also hunting with a golden eagle can be observed without horses from the ground.
5. After hunting with a golden eagle, we can offer dinner with national dishes of Kazakh cuisine.
