Information -
The Aiyrtau Mountains are not just rocks, they are an amazing combination of granite massifs, coniferous forests, birch groves, steppe expanses and quiet lakes. Here you can find rare plants listed in the Red Book, listen to birds singing and see a mountain eagle soaring above the peaks. The surrounding mountains are famous for their medicinal herbs, and in the spring wild tulips and irises bloom here, turning the slopes into living carpets. The history of these mountains goes back centuries - their name "Aiyrtau" ("Dividing Mountains") is associated with ancient trade routes and the borders of nomadic tribes. Local residents carefully preserve the legends of the batyr Zheka, who single-handedly defended these lands, and tales of magical springs that grant strength. Aiyrtau keeps the breath of antiquity. According to local legends, nomads rested here, caravans passed here, and hermits and philosophers meditated in the shade of the rocks. At the foot of the mountains, you can still find ancient burial mounds and sites from the Scythian era - the land remembers the steps of our ancestors.
Today, Aiyrtau attracts tourists with a variety of opportunities for active recreation: from trekking to the peaks and rock climbing on granite massifs to photo hunting for unique landscapes and observing rare species of flora and fauna. The panorama of the mountains at sunset looks especially impressive, when the last rays of the sun paint the granite rocks in golden-crimson tones, creating a truly mesmerizing spectacle. In the mountains, there are tourist routes of varying difficulty - from easy walks to serious trekking. Along the trails there are springs, observation platforms, and most importantly - silence, from which the air rings. Having climbed one of the peaks, you will see the lakes Imantau, Shalkar, Lobanovskoye, and the endless expanses of northern Kazakhstan, stretching to the horizon.
The Aiyrtau Mountains are not just a landscape. They are an ancient force, a living silence, a spirit of freedom. This is a place where you can throw off everything unnecessary, feel yourself a part of nature and leave a little different – calmer, stronger, more inspired.
