Mountaineering in the mountains of the Trans-Ili Alatau -
Jambula Peak Climbing -
Dzhambula Mountain Peak, the famous low peak of the Trans-Ili Alatau, mountains located within the city of Almaty. The peak is of the Alpine type, the height of the peak is 4,355 meters above sea level, the first time climbing to the top was done in 1937 by a group of climbers led by E. Kolokolnikov. The mountain peak is named after the Kazakh poet (akyn) Zhambyl Zhabaev.
The mountain is located in the mountains of the city of Almaty, there is a mountain route of medium difficulty to the mountain and to its top. It will take us at least 3 days to visit Mount Zhambyla, it all depends on your athletic training. There is a mountain glacier nearby, which is also called the Zhambyl glacier.
Even as a little boy, Zhambyl could play the dombra very well (dombra is a Kazakh musical instrument). When Zhambyl turned 14, he left home and became a singer and earned money by playing the dombra and singing songs. He sang in the style of "tolgau" (recitative), won many singing competitions.
