The journey to the Ketmen pass will take you at least two days, be sure to have identification documents with you, as the border with China is located nearby and it is possible to check documents by the border service. The road from the village of Ketpen to the Ketmen pass was built in Soviet times, it is only possible to travel along this road in the summer, when the snow melts and the road is dry. A beautiful panorama of the mountains of the Central Tien Shan, the Ili river valley, the Sarydzhaz ridge and the Meridional ridge opens from the pass.
