Excursion to the Mashat Canyon and the Aksu-Dzhabagly Nature Reserve
Mashat is the name of a mountain gorge located in the Aksu-zhabagly reserve. The distance from the village of Zhabagly to the Mashat gorge is 68 kilometers. The Mashat Canyon is one of the attractions of the reserve; the Mashat river of the same name flows through the gorge. The river originates in the Talas Alatau mountains.
In the Mashat canyon there is a descent along which you can go down to the river to the bottom of the gorge, and take a walk here, the water in the river is cold and stormy, be extremely careful and careful.

Aksu-Zhabagly Nature Reserve – Mashat Canyon (136 km)
From the village of Zhabagly, we depart for the village of Mashat, passing several villages along the way, including the village of Turar Ryskulov, formerly Vannovka, and the village of Kershetas.
After driving 65 kilometers, we reach the canyon and stroll through the grounds. In Mashat Canyon, we can see various tulip species, such as the Kaufmanian and Greigian tulips, as well as other plants, such as the katran kochi, the prickly almond, and the allium karatavica.
After walking through the canyon, we drive to the Mashat Plateau, which shares its name, located three kilometers away. We have lunch on the plateau and then take a stroll. Here we'll see plants such as Lemers tulips, false two-flowered tulips, and Greig tulips.
From the edge of the canyon, a picturesque view of the canyon itself and the Talas Alatau mountains opens up before us. After completing the excursion, we return to the village of Zhabagly. The return journey is 68 kilometers.
