The Sisem-ata necropolis (XI – XII centuries), an ancient monument of Kazakhstan, is under the protection of the Republic of Kazakhstan, this object is included in the list of historical and cultural monuments of Kazakhstan. For the first time, the Sisem-ata necropolis was explored back in 1979 by a group of researchers led by M. Nurkabayev. The Sisem-ata necropolis is the Mangystau necropolis, the place is popular, pilgrims from all over the republic come here.
Sisem-ata was a preacher of Islam who lived in the Middle Ages on the territory of present-day Kazakhstan. Sisem-ata blessed the Adai family to live on the Mangyshlak peninsula. The place where the Sisem-ata necropolis is located is sacred. We invite you to visit this object, travel around Mangystau and plunge into the past of these lands.
