Kapal-Arasan thermal springs in Zhetysu region

Where to relax and spend time in Zhetysu region -

Travel to the sights of Zhetysu -

Kapal-Arasan thermal springs are one of the most amazing places in Zhetysu, where nature generously gave people underground wealth filled with strength and healing energy. They are located in a picturesque valley near the village of Kapal, among the soft foothills of the Dzungarian Alatau, and for many centuries have attracted travelers, pilgrims and travelers here. On the site of the hot springs is the famous resort-sanatorium Kapal-Arasan, which is visited annually by many people to improve their health, take hot thermal baths and just relax and spend time in a picturesque area.
The thermal waters of Kapal-Arasan come to the surface from a depth of more than a kilometer and are saturated with many minerals - calcium, silicon, hydrogen sulfide, radon and other natural elements. Their temperature fluctuates on average from 35 to 55 °C, which makes bathing especially comfortable even in the cool season. Since ancient times, these springs were considered sacred: local residents believed that the spirit of the earth lived in them, giving health and purification. People came here to be treated for diseases of the joints, skin and respiratory tract, to restore strength after difficult hikes and simply to gain energy.

Information -

The history of the Kapal Arasan resort goes back centuries. The first mentions of the healing properties of these waters date back to the 19th century, when the village of Kapal became known as one of the pilgrimage centers in Semirechye. Cossacks, merchants, travelers and even members of the royal family came here. In Soviet times, a sanatorium was built here, and the springs themselves became famous throughout the Union. Today, Kapal-Arasan remains a popular place for rest and treatment: both local residents and tourists from other regions of Kazakhstan come here. The special atmosphere of the thermal springs is created by a combination of natural beauty and a sense of harmony. Around there are quiet hills, green meadows, mountain streams and groves of Sievers apple trees - the wild predecessor of modern apple varieties. It is pleasant not only to bathe in the healing waters, but also to walk around the area, enjoying the silence and fresh mountain air.

Legends -

There are many legends associated with Kapal-Arasan. One of them says that in ancient times, steppe warriors came here after battles: they washed themselves in the hot waters and returned to life, as if reborn. It was believed that if you bathe at dawn and make a wish, the spirit of the spring will fulfill it if your intentions are pure. According to local legends, the healing power of the springs was granted by the spirits of the mountains and water. One legend says that a great batyr, wounded in battle, rested here, and the waters healed his wounds, filling his body with strength and his heart with courage. Another belief connects the springs with a heavenly maiden-healer who came down from the mountains and turned ordinary streams into healing springs to help those in need.

Kapal-Arasan is not only a resort, but also a place of power. Visitors often combine procedures with spiritual practices: they meet the dawn at the springs, meditate to the sound of water, ask the mountains for healing. Local residents advise "making a wish on the water" - whispering a wish, immersing yourself in the spring, or leaving a coin on the stones as a symbol of energy exchange. The atmosphere of a sacred dialogue between man and nature has been preserved here - where the smell of healing herbs, steam from hot waters and the silence of the mountains create a space for deep cleansing not only of the body, but also of the soul.
