The Kaindy gorge is famous for its mountain lake Kaindy. The Kaindy gorge and river originates at an altitude of 3200 meters above sea level in the Kungei Alatu mountains. The highest point of the Kaindy gorge is an unnamed mountain 3786 meters above sea level. A spruce forest grows in the gorge.
