Suzak district is an administrative and territorial part in the north of Turkestan region. The area of the territory is 41.0 thousand km2. Its center is the village of Sholakkorgan, the district was established in January 1928. The district borders with Sauran and Baidibek districts in the south, Ulytau and Zhanaarkinsky districts of Ulytau region in the north, Sarysu district of Zhambyl region in the east, Syrdarya, Shieli, Zhanakorgan districts of Kyzylorda region in the west. Most of the territory of the district is occupied by rocky and sandy desert plains (Betpakdala, Moyinkum). The Karatau range is located in the south and southwest. The highest point of the Sozak district is Mount Bessaz (Mynzhylky), 2176 meters above sea level.

The climate of the Suzak district is continental, winters are cold in the north and somewhat warm in the south, summers are hot and dry. The average annual temperature in January is 7-12°C, July 24-27°C. The average annual precipitation is 150-250 mm. Ushbas, Ushtobe, Torlan, Baldysu, Zhylybulak and other small rivers originate from Karatau. Uranium and coal are mined in the region. Most of the land is covered with gray soil, silt, salt and sand. Of the animals, wolves, hares, foxes, hares, wild boars, deer, minks, badgers, and reptiles live here. The population of the district is 61,512 people. The composition of the residents of the Sozak district is multinational. More than 91.02% of the population are Kazakhs, the rest are Uzbeks, Russians and representatives of other nationalities. Large settlements of the district: the villages of Sholakkorgan, Sozak, Teriskey, Taukent, Kyzemshek, Shakyryk, Karakur, Kumkent. Aksumbe Tower (Akbikesh) and Aksumbe Settlement -

Akbikesh Tower, built in the 12th century, is located about 500 meters from the city. Historical sources report that the Akbikesh Tower was used as a watchtower to monitor the surroundings around the settlement town of Aksumbe. Also, in various legends, the tower is associated with the name of a beautiful woman named Akbikesh. The size of the Akbikesh Tower is 14 meters wide and 25 meters high, but today it is 7 meters wide and 11 meters high. Today, although the external and internal appearance of the tower has been completely preserved, it must be restored in accordance with architectural requirements.
Mosque of the Sozak district -
The Sozak Mosque is an architectural monument of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. It is located in the village of Sozak, Sozak district, Turkestan region. The Sozak Mosque is a rectangular building built of burnt brick, wooden construction details are widely used, the roof is covered with tin. The mosque mainly consists of a square prayer hall connected to the courtyard. An important compositional core of the building is the high portal gates and the facade with stained glass windows at the top and corresponding towers at the corners. The tin roof of the barn is supported by ornate columns. At the same time, elements of Central Asian and Russian architecture were used in the composition of the Sozak mosque.

The mausoleum of Baba Tukti Shashty Aziz is one of the valuable historical monuments of the Sazak district located on the territory of the Turkestan region. The mausoleum of Baba Tukti Shashty Aziz, located on the ground, is a holy sacred and sacred place and a place of pilgrimage, the saint was worshipped by the entire Kazakh people in harsh winters and sung when attacking the enemy. The name of Baba Tukty Shashty Aziz is often mentioned in the poems "Alpamys batyr", "Kobylany batyr", "Shora Batyr". Ishaq Baba is considered one of the first propagators of Islam among the steppe Turks. One of the descendants of the Prophet Muhammad. Historical records say that Ishaq Baba arrived in Turkestan in the 150s of the Hijri, that is, in 762-767 AD. At that time, he settled near the Karakoz spring in Karatau, which was considered the last frontier of the steppe Turks. He built a mosque and madrasah there, educated children and preached Islam to Kazakh tribes. After Ishaq's death, he was buried in what is now his mausoleum. Since then, locals have been coming to the sacred place to say a prayer.

A special place in our history is occupied by Karabura, a holy man of Turkic origin, a priest of the military aristocracy in the Sahara, who had a significant influence on the spread of Islam in Central Asia. Khoja Ahmet Yassawi and Karabura joined forces in preaching Islam and shared their efforts and goals. When Khoja Ahmet Yassawi died, according to his will, the ritual of handing over his corpse was entrusted to Karabura. This testified to the status and authority of the saint at the time. According to legend, Saint Karabura said that he would die and be buried in the place where he would die. It is said that when the camel came to the field of Sozak, it collapsed, and Karabura stuck a stick in this place and died. After a while, the stick turned into a tree that still grows here.
