Medvezhya Mountain (Bear) Walking Tour (hill) -
The Zerendi Mountains are low and beautiful mountains, the height of the mountains in the highest part is 587 meters above sea level, located in the area of Lake Zerendi. The mountains are the main natural attraction of Kokshetau National Park, the highest point in the mountains is Mount Medvezhya (Bear) with a height of 587 meters (Medvedka Hill), there is a hiking route to it through the "mushroom stone" (a large mushroom–shaped stone) It is also known as the wishing stone. The second hill in the mountains is called Smolnaya Hill, and there is also a walking route that starts from the Kokshetau Park visitor center. From the top of the hill there is a beautiful panorama of the forest surrounding the mountain and the lake. The mountains border the village of Zerenda, which is located on the shore of the lake of the same name.
The Zerendi Mountains are an ideal place for those who seek solitude. There is no fuss here, only the rustle of pine needles, the cries of birds and the measured breathing of the earth. The slopes are covered with century-old pines and birches, and rare plants and animals hide in the shade of the forest. In spring and summer, the slopes are strewn with flowers, and in autumn the forest shimmers with all shades of gold and copper. Walking here is like meditation. You can walk along the forest path for hours, enjoying the scenery and listening to the light filtering through the branches. Many people come here just to be alone with themselves, to find answers that are not heard in the noise of the city. Today, the Zerendi region is becoming more and more popular among travelers. There are trails for hiking and cycling, as well as campsites and recreation centers. But despite this, the mountains remain primarily a place of power, not an attraction. Nature gives something special to everyone who comes up here, whether it's inspiration, tranquility, or just the opportunity to feel like a part of something big and real.

Information -
The Zerendi Mountains are not distinguished by their sharp height or harsh cliffs, but this is precisely their special strength. Everything here is permeated with tranquility: the slopes covered with pine forests stretch into the distance like the waves of a stone sea, and the wind sings its endless songs in the treetops. The mountains are 28 kilometers long and 20 kilometers wide, and they form the central part of the Kokchetav Upland. These mountains are like a majestic library, written by nature itself in the language of stone. Their foundations are made of pre–Paleozoic gneisses, ancient as the planet itself, their gray layers preserve the memory of the times when the continents were just forming. The marble veins running through the massif, like white rivers frozen in eternity, are traces of ancient metamorphoses, when an underground fire turned limestone into stone lace. Crystalline limestones, sparkling in the sun with thousands of inclusions, are like a starry sky turned to stone. And above all this, there are layers-pages that capture the Devonian and Carboniferous periods: sandstones bearing the imprints of the first land plants, shales with fossilized traces of ancient marine life, and conglomerates molded from fragments of vanished mountain ranges. And above all this stone archive of life, pine forests rise – eternal guardians, whose roots penetrate through the layers of history. Their resinous aroma mixes with the slight tremor of birch groves, the silver trunks of which seem to illuminate the mountain slopes from the inside.
