Hiking routes in the area of Lake Imantau -
Rest in the Kokshetau National Park -
On the southwestern shore of Lake Imantau, among dense pine forests and green hills, rises one of the most expressive peaks of northern Kazakhstan – mount-hill Kotlovan. This is not just a mountain - it is a place from which the most breathtaking views of the Kokshetau National Nature Park open up. The hill is a unique geological object and a popular tourist route. This granite hill, reaching a height of about 575 meters above sea level, was formed as a result of ancient tectonic processes and centuries of weathering. From its top, a real panorama of the North opens up: Lake Imantau, forests, like a green sea, neighboring hills and distant horizon lines. The route to the mountain starts from the village of Imantau, which is located nearby. People come here to feel the space, breathe in the scent of pine needles and feel how the earth itself shares its power. The hill is distinguished by its characteristic rounded shapes, typical of the Kazakh low hills. Its slopes are decorated with bizarre rocky outcrops of granite, forming natural sculptures. Of particular interest are the granite "cauldrons" - round depressions in the rocks formed by centuries of work of water and wind.
How to get there and visit -

Information -
The slopes of the Kotlovan hill are covered with pine forest, and closer to the top there are open areas with picturesque stone ledges. The wind often blows here, but it does not disturb - it refreshes the thoughts, cleanses from city dust and vanity. Two official tourist routes developed by the park lead to the mountain: 1. This is the "Mountain Hills" trail - it starts from the Imantau recreation center, passes through the "Invisible" spring and leads to the top of the hill. The length is about 10 km in both directions. 2. The trail is called "The Coast of Lake Imantau" - the route runs along the shore of the lake, through the "Borovushka" base, the "Kozyrok" stone, campsites and the Buyan gorge. About 13 km in both directions. Both trails pass through beautiful places: springs, panoramic platforms, quiet forests and open areas with views of the Imantau lakes. The best time for a hike is from May to October. In spring everything here blossoms, in summer there is a soft heat, and in autumn the slopes glow with gold. In winter, you can climb on skis or take a walk in a snowy fairy tale - here the silence rings like crystal.
Mount Kotlovan (hill) is not just a point on the map. This is the summit where man and nature, gaze and infinity meet. This is a place where you can hear yourself. Here you do not just look into the distance - you understand where to go.
