Zhaksykylysh is a lake at the mouth of the Syrdarya river, in the Aral district of the Kyzylorda region. The lake is located on the northeastern shore of the Aral Sea, between the Aral Karakum and the Zhaksykylysh mountains, at an altitude of 48.1 m above sea level. The area is 74.5 km2. Due to the drying up of the Aral Sea, the area of the lake has sharply decreased, only in spring there is water, and since July the surface is covered with salt and turns into a dry plain.
